The humanities are not a luxury. They are the practice of paying attention — to language, to history, to each other. In an age of endless distraction, we believe the most radical act is to sit with a difficult text and think together.
Our seminars are small, our questions are open, and our standards are high. Every course is led by a scholar who has devoted their life to the subject. No prerecorded lectures, no multiple-choice quizzes — just conversation, close reading, and the slow work of understanding.
Each seminar runs for eight weeks. You'll read one primary text per week, write a short response, and join a live discussion with no more than twelve fellow readers.

A short weekly response — not a paper, but a genuine attempt to think on the page. Your seminar leader reads every one and weaves your ideas into the discussion.
A live 90-minute seminar each week with no more than twelve readers. Not a lecture — a conversation. You leave with more questions than you arrived with, and that is the point.

Anyone who reads. Our students range from 19 to 79 — undergraduate students, retired teachers, working professionals, parents. There are no prerequisites beyond curiosity and a willingness to show up prepared.
About 4–6 hours per week: 3–4 hours of reading, 30 minutes for your written response, and a 90-minute live seminar. The reading is the heart of it — the rest exists to deepen your encounter with the text.
No. The seminars are live and unrecorded. This protects the intimacy of the conversation and ensures that everyone who attends is fully present. If you miss a session, you can join a makeup discussion the following week.
Each eight-week course is 480€. This includes all readings (digital editions), the weekly seminar, and personal written feedback from your seminar leader. We offer need-based scholarships for those who cannot afford the full fee.
